Cucurrucucu

In the series presented here, I explore a different idea than usual. The Cucurrucucu Series comes as a comment to domestic power roles and dominance. As in the case of the ‘upper' and ‘lower' classes, the focus of this series is what renders someone dominant or submissive and what makes one lose control over something they used to have control over. The drawings present crude, almost violent scenes where one can barely distinguish between human forms and invented human-like figures. The texts in this series function as ex-votos (valuable offerings devoted to a divinity or saint as gift for their grace) as a catharsis for the emotional state of the period.
